I am the owner and founder of No Place Like Home Therapy. I am in my 10th year as an occupational therapist. I have worked primarily in acute inpatient rehabilitation, but also in home health care, skilled nursing, and with adults with developmental disabilities.

My true passion is home safety modifications. I love problem solving ways to help make everyday tasks safer and easier. I have an Executive Certificate in Home Modification from USC and am a Certified Geriatric Professional.

What is mobile occupational therapy?

Mobile outpatient therapy is a somewhat new concept in this area. Like home health care therapy, the therapist comes to the patient's home where she can provide therapy services within the patient's own environment. Unlike home health care, nursing services are not available. Mobile outpatient therapy can benefit those who do not have transportation to appointments, assess home safety concerns, and provide caregiver training/education. Patients do not have to be homebound. It is billed under Medicare Part B.

Do I have to be homebound?

No. Mobile outpatient occupational therapy is different than home health care. You are not restricted to staying at home outside of therapy time. You are free to visit friends and family, eat out, etc. 

Is mobile outpatient therapy covered by insurance?

Mobile outpatient occupational therapy can be billed under Medicare Part B. If you are not covered by Medicare Part B, you may pay cash or your insurance can be billed out of network.
